Palm outs SDK for webOS 1.4

Lagging by the big OTA push by just a couple short days, Palm has published its SDK for devs looking to target webOS 1.4 — and it’s got some pretty important changes in the mix. Besides the obvious addition of Flash 10.1 on the Pre, 1.4 now incorporates WebKit 4 (along with an updated V8 JavaScript engine), better conformance with the HTML5 Media API spec, and additions to the platform’s camera API to interact with the new video recording support

No leaks or release date rumors this time, a mere 39mb download is all that separates your Sprint, O2 or Movistar connected Pre from video recording, Flash , enhanced message notifications and much-desired performance and battery life improvements. Sprint confirms Pre and Pixi webOS 1.4 update coming tomorrow (update: full changelog!)

Just hours after we wrapped our mitts around what looked to be Palm’s official webOS 1.4 changelog , along comes this: confirmation from none other than Sprint itself. According to a post on the carrier’s official forums by Sprint Admin ‘izzyks,’ both the Pre and Pixi will see the long-awaited webOS 1.4 update hit sometime tomorrow evening. As always, users will see an OTA alert when the new files are ready for consumption, and you can find a full list of the fixes and changes just beyond the break
