This pair of Pixi lovelies was ogled overnight inside one of Sam Walton’s finest Tennessee locations reportedly sporting a $400 price tag and little else — it wasn’t in Walmart’s system so it wasn’t yet available for purchase. Something that should be rectified in time for Sunday’s official launch with Sprint ($100 on contract) if not sooner.
Today marks the O2 Palm Pre launch over at the UK. And O2 has been tweeting all morning about the Pre launch, reporting that the number of Palm Pre sold today exceeds the total number of handsets they sell on an average day. Not only that, over half of the people that bought a Pre also picked up a Touchstone!
From the get go, we knew that Palm had an uphill battle to get apps into its App Catalog. Not an easy task when you have a brand spanking new mobile OS, yes, you guessed it, webOS. And other platforms having the upper hand with the number of apps doesn’t help either.
This coming Sunday, September 13th, Palm’s CEO Jon Rubinstein will join the guys from Engadget at their very first live show. Expect discussions about the Palm Pre, webOS, Palm Pixi and the cat & mouse game that has become the Palm Pre syncing with iTunes. This should make a very interesting interview

Here’s some good news for the people of the land of bagged milk and honey; the Palm Pre’s Canadian launch date has been set. The Pre will be available in the great white north on the Bell Mobility Network starting August 27.
