For the last couple of days we have seen the official App Catalog grow in numbers little by little, up to now, there are 314 apps. That is not bad at all, and according to the latest rumors , when the Palm Pixi arrives in November 15th, we will see not only more apps in the Catalog, but also an update to webOS.
Last time we had a decent number of apps released into the App Catalog, was on the launch of the Palm Pre on O2’s network in the UK and Ireland. Yesterday, Palm decided to give us, Pre users, a little over 40 new apps and an update to Evernote. Yes, it’s like Palm is finally listening to us, or so it would seem

For those of you keeping count, that is one more than is currently available from the App Catalog on the Palm Pre
Some enterprising folks have started to load so-called “Homebrew” apps on to their Pre’s without going through the Palm Pre Apps Catalog. This practice, also known as “sideloading,” is not yet completely bug-free or easy to use, but progress is being made and hopefully the process will become pain-free enough for it to be widely adopted. I won’t quite detail how to go about this just yet, since the process isn’t mature enough and we certainly don’t want you destroying your precious Palm Pre in the process.
